Major enhancements made to HealthLibrary.ca
HealthLibrary.ca is pleased to announce the following enhancements that have been made to the system over the last couple of months.

  • /Query speed improved by at least 1500%
  • Flash objects downloadable.
  • RSS feed enabled , and posting functionality.
  • Exteral account registration/creation for HealthLibrary.ca
  • Password retrieval.
  • Users can update their own contact info.
  • Owners of assets can now edit metadata online, after submission.
  • Improved the User/Interface for the entire site.
  • New 'look' for the entire site.
  • Improved contribution controls for our end users.
  • Integration of Shiboleth (federated user accounts).
  • Implemented 'collections' into HealthLibrary.ca
  • Users can delimit searches to collections only.
  • Users can 'browse' collections.
  • now returns dynamically generated thumbnails for image assets.
  • HealthLibrary.ca is now running from a new server, adding to performance benefits.

These enhancements have been tested internally, and are ready to be deployed in the first week of March. The HealthLibrary.ca development team is very pleased to offer this high caliber functionality to our users, and we will not stop here. Several more enhancements are currently under development, even as we roll these aforementioned features out. We are committed at MMi to provide health care professionals world wide with not only incredible digital assets, but also the technology driving their integration into pedagogy in all its various forms.
