HealthLibrary.ca

The National Medical Digital Repository has been developed for medical teaching and learning in Canada and will be available to all Canadian medical schools through the A.C.M.C. with the hope of creating pan-Canadian collaboration and cooperation. The National Medical Digital Repository will permit Canadian medical teachers to contribute, collect, store, use and share their teaching material, thus ultimately benefiting all teachers and learners.

A pilot project is now well underway to establish a trust relationship among the universities subscribing to the HealthLibrary.ca. The idea is that individuals, who have a username and password for any of our Canadian Faculties of Medicine, can enter the library without requiring a separate HealthLibrary username or password and without re-entering the information once they are logged in at their own university.

The McGill Network and Communications Services has partnered with their opposites at Dalhousie and Toronto in bringing this project to fruition. Their efforts will save the rest of us a considerable amount of work and we will all have one less username and password to remember and enter. Hats off to our computer wizards!
